The SDX-4DVision is Sodex Innovations’ excavator-mounted system and the most capable product in the SDX line. Rather than sitting on the roof, its laser scanners and cameras mount under the boom — positioned to look directly into the trench or excavation as the machine digs.
The system captures millions of measurements per minute to build a georeferenced point cloud, and AI processing attaches attributes to each scanned point, including soil classification. That means it reports in real time how many cubic yards of which material were moved — the number you actually need to bill against.
Works With What You Already Run
The SDX-4DVision uses the machine’s existing GNSS and IMU sensors and retrofits to any brand or size of excavator — from compact and wheeled machines up to large tracked excavators. It integrates fully with Trimble Earthworks, so your operator runs it from the tablet already in the cab. No second screen, no second workflow.
Configurations vary by the number of scanners and cameras, so the system can be matched to the machine and the work rather than sold as one fixed package.

Colored point clouds — the product of pairing cameras with laser scanning — give crews and clients clearer insight into completed work. Utilities can be measured directly from the point cloud without a return trip, and quality control and documentation collapse into a single efficient step. The operator never gets out of the machine.
