SDX-PocketScan is the handheld member of the Sodex lineup. It turns an iPhone into a portable 3D capture device for all the moments when there isn’t a machine scanning and the solution doesn’t justify a surveyor traveling to the site. It supports both LiDAR and photogrammetry capture modes. Thanks to the RTK receiver, it delivers survey-grade, centimeter-level accuracy suitable for construction, surveying and utility documentation.
Anyone on the Crew Can Run It
The app-driven workflow guides the user through each step, from setting up the scan to uploading the results, so even crew members with no surveying background can produce usable 3D models after minimal training. Device and project settings are managed centrally through SDX-Cloud, meaning the operator on-site simply connects the receiver, opens the app, and starts scanning. The integration of Ground Control Points (GCPs) and the rover mode into the scanning workflow further improves photogrammetry model accuracy, anchoring the 3D output to known reference positions for reliable, survey-grade results across the entire capture area.
Captured data uploads to SDX-Cloud for processing within minutes, the same platform the machine-mounted systems feed into, so handheld and machine data captures live in one project.
